Trophy «Prix de Soleure»

This trophy was created by winning a public competition at the Solothurn Film Festival. After 10 years, the organisation committee of the Film Festival was looking for a new trophy for the "Prix de Soleure", the most highly endowed film prize in Switzerland. Together with David Zuber, the concept, the design, the prototypes and the production of the trophies were created.

The design is based on a theme: unity despite differences. The trophy consists of two parts made of wood and metal, which interlock with their respective links, fill the gaps between them and form a unity. Furthermore, the trophy is planned with the dimensions and proportions of the famous "Solothurn number" 11. Thus the thicknesses, heights and widths of the individual parts can always be multiplied or divided by 11. The connection to Solothurn is also underlined by the use of local materials.

After the production of the first two prizes, our "Prix de Soleure" trophies were awarded for the first time at the 57th Solothurn Film Festival 2022.
