Shells

Living space and building land are in high demand in Switzerland and are used as profitably as possible. However, there are large buildings scattered all over the country that are vacant or not used at all. These buildings are shells, unused and without any apparent purpose.

This photo series portrays these very shells: Factories, railway stations, even entire power plants stand obsolete in the landscape. The geometric, graphic photography style and the processing of the images, which is as objective and matter-of-fact as possible, is intended to emphasise the dreariness and oddity of the objects.
