Apollon Kontacaster

Out of personal interest and for the birthday of a good friend, I started this ambitious project: the construction of an electric guitar. First I got a block of resonant spruce from the Engadine region in Graubünden, which was then shaped using a CNC milling machine. For aesthetic reasons, the wood was then stained and lavishly coated with clear coat. Finally, the electrical parts were soldered and everything was neatly screwed together. To round off the whole project, the guitar received its own case with a custom designed logo on it. In the end, the guitar was named "Apollon Kontacaster". The name is composed of the name of the Greek god of music (Apollon) and the portmanteau word "Kontacaster". The word created especially for the product is based on the brand name "Telecaster" (the construction form of the guitar) and "konta" (Greek for "near"), which is why the wood and the complete production come from Switzerland. Furthermore, "konta" is the opposite of "tele" (Greek for "far, far away") and thus emphasises the local aspect of the guitar.
